This collection shows the constant motion of our modern news cycle, each piece bursting with movement and action. Will the viewer stand back and absorb the activity of the collection as a whole or focus in on the details of each piece even when surrounded by a flurry of stimuli. In a world where news has become a consumer, the consumer is left to sort out the sensationalized. How are we affected as we are desensitized from this process?  In a news cycle that is always moving on to the next thing can we focus and search for details or do we simply recognize the noise and continue on.

Style is thrust to the forefront in this collection.  After years of creating from turmoil, the artist begins to emerge from chaos. Stability and creativity are now codependent. Embracing and building on positive energy increases and pushes these words toward grandeur. The large scale format supports this vigor while the double lines emphasize this new direction.

This collection sees the emergence of the snake image, here raising the idea of selling one’s soul. The eight pieces explore why we are often compelled to do more than is necessary as well as the disappointment of people

offering more than they are really willing to do.

Completed during the summer heatwave, this collection considers the multiple meanings of heat. The hot and cold of gaining and losing control, getting hot when things are going well, drawing inspiration from heated situations,

and the destruction from being in the heat.

This collection reflects thoughts on the culture of our society

and social media. It questions a culture with no clear purpose other than to attract unknown people for unknown reasons. Pieces consider the disappointments that can come from collaborations, of people who follow along for their own gain, and those who may leave when they get or realize that won’t get what they are seeking.

Twenty-three pieces reflect on the father-son relationship. There is a subconscious healing in these pieces which leads to a realization that the artist wants more for himself and his children.  The collection’s theme is on the desire to have the strength and will to fix these relationships rather than give up.

It is a look at a moment of change and questions whether it may create new divisions or beginnings for a movement of good.

There is a realization that self-destructive goals interfere with life’s greater goals and that getting trapped in potential can confuse, or even blend, the two.

This collection holds on to the theme of religion, with a positive and redemptive tone. Pieces in this collection explore past doubts and loss and have an overarching theme of survival and reinvention. After finishing this series, the artist felt compelled to act on that feeling of redemption. He traveled to Honduras, undertaking an art project in an orphanage with hopes of sharing that feeling with those who need it most.

In this collection, the starting point for the narrative comes from the exploration of religious literature. One of the most subconscious of collections, it is illustrative of submission, trust, hope, and hopelessness. These pieces survey the effects of worldly possessions on life, the consideration and implications of death, and the acceptance or necessity of letting go and keeping faith- in life and religion.
